Having already jumped from the 12th rank to the 6th in the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings, Chaminade continues to dominate the competition. Opening the season with a 10-5 win over 16th Ward Melville, the Flyers followed up with a 7-4 victory over 26th Massapequa.
In its third game, Chaminade faced 29th ranked Fordham Prep in yet another incredible performance.
The two teams were slow to in getting started. Chaminade led 2-1 in the first and added on another goal in the second, taking a 3-1 lead into the half.
Heating up in the third quarter, the Flyers scored three goals in the third, beating Fordham’s solo goal. In the fourth, the scoring did not stop as Chaminade tacked on another four goals. The Flyers’ excellent defense stopped Fordham every step of the way, only allowing two goals in the final quarter.
At the final whistle, Chaminade led 10-4.
The Flyers offense was fantastic all around, with seven different goal scorers. Sean Cerrone, Jack Brennan, and Jack Tigh led Chaminade with two goals each.
Advancing to 3-0, the Flyers are off to a great start to the season. Chaminade’s next opponent is West Islip. The two teams faceoff on April 5.
